WHY DAY TRIPS TO THOUSAND ISLANDS ?

St. Lawrence Co. is one of the largest and least populated counties east of the Mississippi River. Its Northern boarder is the St. Lawrence River and it also boarders the Eastern end of the 1000 Islands region. The county itself has over 200 beautiful rivers and lakes and both of our lodges provide wonderful recreational opportunities on two of these, Beaver Creek and The Oswegatchie River. Both of our lodges are also just a short 30- 45 minute drive to Alexandria Bay and Boldt Castle, the heart of the 1000 Islands region. If you are a person who doesn’t necessarily enjoy crowds you can stay in our very private and quiet lodges, have the entire house to yourselves, and have many recreational activities right at the lodge. You can always do as many day- trips to the 1000 Islands as you desire.

A LITTLE ABOUT OUR LODGES:

We have taken two abandoned 19th century farm houses and completely restored them using almost all reclaimed and recycled lumbers gleaned from other early structures. We have brought them back to life and present them to you as wonderful options for lodging or vacationing in the beauty of St. Lawrence County and 1000 Islands region, NY. Both lodges are in stunning private country settings. Both have waterfront with all the natural beauty and wildlife that these types of settings tend to have. Both have great recreational opportunities. We provide kayaks and bikes so you can get out and appreciate all the wonderful open country that this county offers.

Both are very easy day trips to 1000 Islands, Lake Ontario, Ottawa and just short drives to Canton and Potsdam, homes of SUNY Canton and SUNY Potsdam, Clarkson and St. Lawrence Universities. Both have stocked kitchens, Jacuzzis, memory foam beds, and are fully furnished with antiques and reproductions made with aged barn woods. And… the entire house is yours! We also provide you with your first morning’s breakfast food…. you cook and eat in privacy!
